This pen uses a short cartridge for ink changes.

To install or replace your cartridge:

  • Open your pen by unscrewing the cap.
  • Unscrew the barrel from the gold tip assembly.
  • Press the small end of your cartridge into the top of the tip assembly, being certain to seat it over the protrusion at the bottom of the hole.
  • Ink will fill the reservoir behind your nib, so take care as you screw the barrel over the cartridge.

To clean or change the nib:

Use paper towel throughout as necessary.

  1. Work over newspaper or paper towels.
  2. Open your pen by unscrewing the cap.
  3. Unscrew the barrel from the gold tip assembly.
  4. Remove the cartridge by holding it with a paper towel so the left over ink does not get on your hands. Set the cartridge aside.
  5. Unscrew the long metal from the nib area.
  6. Pull or twist the small gold band away from the nib.
  7. Grasping the metal nib and the black reservoir (using paper towels), wiggle the assembly and tug the two pieces from the black holder. (Be certain not to touch any unsupported part of the nib.
  8. Rinse the nib and parts in water only. When dry reassemble your pen.

Reassemble your pen:

  1. Line up the nib with the curved reservoir and press firmly back into the holder.
  2. Slide the gold ring, bead edge first, on the holder (this ring helps keep the assembly together.)
  3. Screw nib assembly and gold shaft together.
  4. Put ink cartridge in place and screw the barrel on.
